Sylvia’s specializes in antique and estate jewelry, with our emphasis being on an extensive selection of platinum, white gold and yellow gold antique engagement rings in all price ranges. These rings are one of a kind, so you can choose the ring that is perfect for your taste.
Sylvia’s is a family business. Our wide variety of jewelry spans from the Georgian period through the Retro period, including Victorian, Art Nouveau, Arts and Crafts, and Art Deco periods. About Sylvia
Sylvia has been in the jewelry business for twenty-five years. She has managed large retail jewelry stores and has owned two of her own stores, one being for new jewelry and the second being for estate and antique jewelry. She served on the Jewelers of Louisiana, Inc. Board of Directors in l985 and 1986.
She has taken numerous jewelry courses and is GIA certified in diamonds and in pearls.
About Our Jewelry
All diamond jewelry priced at $1,000 or more is appraised by an outside GIA Graduate Gemologist who is given no data about the item, i.e. cost, retail, diamond size, etc. Consequently, appraisals furnished to our customers are objective and are done at replacement value – not an inflated retail value requiring you to pay higher premiums for insurance coverage. When requested, an appraisal will be supplied at no cost to the customer purchasing a piece of diamond jewelry priced at $1,000 or more.
No charge for one time only ring sizing on rings over $1000. Eternity rings are sized at customer’s cost if it can be done. Some rings cannot be sized.
The metal in all our jewelry is tested, diamond weights calculated, and any necessary repairs are done by our jewelers who are considered the most competent in this area.
