The end of World War I not
only brought changes to the
social structure, but also to
the style of jewelry worn.
Vivid colored stones,
chromatic contrasts, and
strong geometrical patterns
began to appear. New
technology allowed for
innovative ways of cutting
precious stones, such shapes
as triangles, trapezoids,
marquise, and emerald cuts.
Egyptian style jewelry also
became popular after the
discovery of King Tut's tomb
