During this time of World War II, all of Europe's luxury production ceased, as their resources were committed to the war effort. Meanwhile, the United States benefited from the prosperity caused by the war in Europe. It was during this time that the American jewelry market finally flourished. Pink or "rose" gold became very popular as well as big, bold styles. Bows, ribbons, birds, flowers, and patriotic themes were widespread styles of Retro jewelry.
