The Victorian Period began with the reign of Queen Victoria in 1837. Queen Victoria was very fond of jewelry and her influence inspired many jewelry designs in this era. The jewelry of this period reflects repeated themes such as nature, symbolism, sentimentality, and history. Cameos, hair jewelry, mourning jewelry as well as, Etruscan (granulation of beads), Renaissance, and Scottish jewelry became popular during this period.
